Malthouse bread flour loaves, comforting wholesome.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients and knead for a good 15 minutes until you have a nice smooth dough.
  2. Leave to rest under a slightly wet tea towel for 1h30.
  3. On the floured worktop divide the dough into two equal balls. Leave to rest for another 30 minutes.
  4. Slightly flatten the dough on a flat tray with parchment paper, cover again and leave for a further 1h30.
  5. Preheat the oven at 250C and put a kettle on.
  6. Score the loaves squares. And bake for 10 minutes with a bowl of boiling water underneath.
  7. Lower the temperature to 230C, bake for a further 10 minutes.

Notes

Remember to take your sourdough starter 24h in advance and feed it.

You can totally swap the malthouse bread flour by using spelt, rye or strong wholemeal flour.
